Professional Gundog Training in High Wycombe
Located in Downley, a picturesque village on the western outskirts of High Wycombe, Mountjoys Gundog Training Ground offers a purpose-built training environment set within five acres of beautiful grassland.
The gently undulating terrain provides a variety of natural features, creating ideal conditions for realistic and effective gundog training.
The training ground is easily accessible from the road via a secure gated entrance, with convenient off-road parking available within the field for all visitors.
Safety is a priority at Mountjoys. The entire site is fully enclosed with stock wire fencing, providing a secure and controlled environment where both dogs and handlers can train with confidence.

Our training ground offers a variety of features designed to replicate real working environments while providing a safe and controlled setting for learning.

Training Options
We offer a range of flexible training solutions to suit individual handlers, groups, and clubs.
Field Hire
Hire the training ground for your own private training sessions. The facility can be used individually or with small groups, with a recommended maximum of six dogs per session.
Guest Trainers Welcome
If you already work with a preferred trainer, they are welcome to use the facility to run classes or training sessions. We can also arrange professional trainers to attend and deliver specialist training where available.
One-to-One Training
Personalised training sessions are available with experienced trainer Michael Smith. These sessions provide tailored guidance and support for both dog and handler.

Training Ground Hire
Up to 3 hours: Minimum charge £40
Additional handlers: £20 per dog handler
One-to-One Training
£40 per hour
